Fun Family Dog Show

Farlington School Dog ShowFarlington Family Dog Show took place on a warm Autumn afternoon and was well supported by furry four-legged friends of all shapes and sizes … and their owners! 57 dogs competed in the various classes, which included Most Appealing Eyes, Waggiest Tail and Most Handsome Dog. The afternoon started with a Dog Fancy Dress Parade with some very imaginative entries, the winning entry being the Farlington Hockey Team, sporting the full Farlington kit. There was an Agility Course, Musical Sits, Best Biscuit Catcher and even an Egg and Spoon race (the owners carried the eggs and spoons – these were bright dogs but not that intelligent!). The winner of the Best in Show was Frosty, a beautiful Alaskan Malamute owned by Isabella Hayes in Year 3.
Thanks go to Comyn and James, estate agents in Pulborough for their sponsorship of the rosettes and to Farlington Judo teacher, Deborah Hills, for creating them.
The event raised over £500 which was a fantastic result. This, in addition to funds raised from the Harvest Assembly, will enable Farlington to give £1000 to Guide Dogs for the Blind, with enough left over to finance food and bedding for the rabbits and guinea pigs in Farlington’s pet area, the Warren.
