Georgie Hamp and Emma Christopherson, A-level art and design students from Farlington, have been selected to enter the next round of the Royal Society of British Artists competition.
They have each had two works chosen to enter the second round of this prestigious competition to find the most outstanding work by final year A-level students from around the country and display it as part of the exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. The Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition shows the best of contemporary representational painting, sculpture, printmaking and drawing.
The shortlisted students will have the title RBA Scholar during the show and receive an invitation to the private view at the Mall Galleries as well as a certificate. The NADFAS John Ingram Memorial Prize will be awarded for an exceptional piece of work.
The girls’ work has been selected from their A-level work by Suzi Beale from the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies who said, “The work at Farlington is in a class of its own.”
Georgie and Emma are in their final year of studying Art and Design A-level. With a small class, they have been guaranteed individual guidance and instruction. The girls have been introduced to a wide variety of media from traditional painting to collage, mono prints and sculpture.
