On Monday 23 May Mr Gordon McConnell presented Katie with a book token and her award for winning the intermediate level. Katie, a keen writer in her own time, hopes to write professionally one day, and this is a promising start to her career.
Katie’s English teacher, Jane Lewis, said, ‘We are thrilled at Katie’s success. It is encouraging to see that, despite the onslaught of technological communication, young people are still interested in writing creatively.’
