Farlington School LAMDA SuccessFarlington has received it latest LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) examination results and they are outstanding. 36 girls in Years 7–13 took an acting examination with 27 girls gaining a Distinction and nine gaining a Merit.  Congratulations to all the candidates.

To achieve a Distinction requires 80 marks and three girls, Chloe Mariani and Lily Wolstenholme taking Grade 6, Bronze Medal,  and Minty Noble- Jones taking Grade 2, reached over 90 marks.  An extraordinary achievement!

Sophia Page, Megan Speers, Alice Tarplee, Martha Walliss, Georgia Buck and Orla Ridpath all passed their Grade 6 – Bronze Medal with Distinction.

Jessica Clarke, Rebecca Briggs , Caris Crouch, Georgia Buck, Orla Ridpath, Amber Dale, Summer Raemason, Rania Hyde and Victoria Jones achieved between 85 and 90 marks.

Lizzie Booth, Farlington’s Speech and Drama teacher, said, “As always the examiners commented on how well prepared and confident they all were. We are currently waiting for the next results for forty girls in Years 6–13 who took their exams in May.  I have no doubt that these results will not disappoint. Good luck to the girls in Prep 2–5 who will be taking their exams on 11th June.

”Speech and Drama nurtures spontaneity, imagination, trust, teamwork, and self-confidence.  Most importantly it is so valuable for learning presentation skills. It is not just about acting, although the girls absolutely love acting and appreciate the release it gives them.

“It takes courage for a Year 2 girl to bound into a room, perform her poem and then engage in a conversation with someone she has never met before about what she has just done, and yet time and time again the girls excel.  This results in essential life skills being taught when girls are fearless and further proves that Farlington really does educate for confidence.”
