A team of business and economics students from Felsted School have made it through to the National Final of the Institute of Chartered Accounts in England and Wales (ICAEW) BASE competition.

The first round of the competition saw them individually take on the role of an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and complete an online business-related game. They were then formed into a team and following a team challenge were shortlisted to progress to the final round, where they gave a presentation via video link based on their response to the challenge so far.

The team were selected as one of the top 48 teams in the country and secured a place in next month’s National Final at the Hilton Hotel, Birmingham.

Joy McArdle, head of business and economics, commented: “It is a great achievement to have won through to this prestigious final; the students have worked collaboratively, giving up their spare time to work on the previous rounds.”
