Felsted School recently sponsored a two day national equestrian show at Codham Park.

The first day saw riders compete in the NSEA Arena Eventing Championship Qualifiers, followed by the Hickstead Showjumping qualifiers. Felsted’s riders placed sixth on the first day in the 90cm group, with Henry Squibb winning the 1.1m show-jumping class the following day, securing qualification for the NSEA Elite competition in August.

Mrs Paula Pilcher, head of Felsted equestrian, commented: “The two days were a great success. Codham Park put on a great show and it was lovely to see the Felsted riders represent the school so well.”

Henry placed in every class over the two days of the tournament and also competed in the Pony of the Year Show recently. The 11 year-old further displayed his talent by winning the British Showjumping 148cm Special Championship.

The school also had a number of successes at the Essex County Challenge and Hickstead Elite Qualifier over the Easter weekend. Emily Gallian finished the 70cm show-jumping class in 2nd place and as the highest placed Essex rider, qualifying her for the Hickstead competition. The Felsted 1m Hickstead Elite team of Poppy Buckenham, Isabel Scott-Bowden, Natasha Worsick and Sam Wisbey also placed second, qualifying them for the Hickstead Elite competition in August.
