Felsted School has maintained its position as the best school in Essex for educational value, according to the Department of Education.

The most recent government rankings place the school in the top 10% nationally and above every grammar school in the county, comparing student’s previous attainment with their A Level results to show the level of improvement over a two year period.

Chris Townsend, headmaster at Felsted, commented: “[These results] reflect the hard work put in by all the students, as well as the outstanding teaching, support and encouragement provided by all of our teachers. It is not surprising that so many of our students were able to take up places at their first choice universities last term.

“Government statistics do not include iGCSE, so Felsted does not qualify for any of the measurements at age 16. However, with nearly half of all GCSE grades over the last three years being A* or A, I have every confidence that our performance at this level would also have ranked us highly.”
