It has been built with a raised lantern roof section to maximise the natural daylight in the work space and benefits from a range of other features including special lighting throughout to provide it with a natural daylight effect, increased floor area and purpose-built workstations made of solid beech.

The school’s maintenance team has created bespoke tables to match the workstations and teaching staff will benefit from a new interactive Smartboard and wifi connectivity for demonstrations.

A separate space for pottery with a purpose-built damp room and designated kiln room has also been included in the new department. These provide a top class ceramics department in which pupils will be able to create slab and coil pottery.

Foremarke Hall opens new art building Sue Tucker, Head of Art at Foremarke Hall, says: “Looking out of the new art block windows at our staggeringly beautiful grounds whatever time of year, will inspire our pupils to get creative and enjoy this amazing facility. It has the kind of facilities that professional artists dream of and no-one can fail to be impressed. I am thrilled to have this wonderful space to work in and the children will love it!”

Foremarke Hall’s new art department is part of the Quad development which also houses a contemporary music facility, the languages department, the school’s English and humanities departments, a designated ICT suite for design and technology and a Greenpower garage for Foremarke’s award-winning electric cars which are designed, built, maintained and driven by pupils.
