Local boy, Ryan Brown (12), has just been told that he is one of four children in his age group to be picked for the Children’s GB Ski Team. Ryan, from Oswestry, who graduated from Moreton First recently, is now based in Champoluc, Italy. ‘
Ryan was at Moreton First and they generously gave him the time to go to Italy each year to train,’ explains his mother, Ruth Brown. ‘But now he is based in the Alps so that he can train every day and go to school there.’ Ryan also won the Welsh Alpine Championships for his age group this week in Champery, Switzerland. He comments: ‘It’s hard work but a lot of fun. My dream is to be in the winter Olympics in 2018.’
