Pupils and teachers from Fulneck School acted the fool on Friday 15th March as they raised money for Comic Relief.Fulneck School

A host of activities were organised for both the morning and lunch breaks, including a number of teacher versus student challenges.

One of the highlights of the day was when our gap year student from Australia, Jack Rickard, got his first taste of Red Nose day!

Jack was persuaded to sit in a bath whilst pupils pay to poured tins of mushy peas over him!

He said: “This will be my first taste of Comic Relief and I’m really looking forward to being a part of the fund-raising activities.”

Other fund-raising activities undertaken by the staff and pupils included:

A non-uniform day
Coffee morning
Beat Mr Russell at Connect 4
Pupil verses teacher goal shoot
Prize draw to win an Easter hamper

Fulneck’s charity co-ordinator Hayley Martinez-Arboleda said: “There were plenty of activities taking place at Fulneck on Friday, but Jack’s mushy pea bath was a highlight! We are very grateful to him for agreeing to be the fall guy for this stunt, and I’m sure it will raise an awful lot of money."

“Comic Relief is a national institution, and all the students always look forward to it coming around. They all know the money raised on the day goes to help those less fortunate than themselves.”
