GODOLPHIN ANNOUNCES NEW HEAD

Mr Michael Nicholson, Chairman of the Governors at Godolphin School, has announced that Mrs Emma Hattersley has been appointed as the new Head of the School and will take over from Mrs Samantha Price in January 2014.

Mr Nicholson said: “I am delighted to be able to inform you that the Governors have appointed Mrs Emma Hattersley BA (Hons) as Head of Godolphin from January 2014. The Governors are looking forward to welcoming her to the School and to her continuing the excellent progress that Godolphin has been making under Sam Price’s leadership.”

Mrs Hattersley was educated at Queensmount School for Girls and Canford School. She went on to read Music at Durham University and then undertook two years postgraduate study at the Royal Academy of Music. Emma taught at Talbot Heath School in Bournemouth and at the Dorset Rural Music School in Blandford where she founded a pre-school group before taking a career break while her children were small.

Emma returned to teaching full time at Canford School before moving to Sherborne Girls, where she is currently Deputy Head Pastoral. In her career she has taught A-level and GCSE General Studies as well as IB and A-level Music and lower school curriculum Religious Studies. She has been the Head of the PSHE programme, Housemistress of a co-educational day house and a girls' boarding house and for the last four years has been managing seven boarding houses and teaching.
