Following on from their A-level success, Godolphin School, Salisbury, are celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results with the number of A* and As considerably higher than last year.
Classical Greek achieved a 100% A* pass rate and Latin and Biology achieved 100% A*-A. 100% A*-B passes were awarded to Art & Design, Food Technology, German, ICT, Chemistry, Physics and Statistics. Overall 96% of the students achieved A*-C grades with a 100% total pass rate.
Mrs Emma Hattersley, Head, said “This was a large cohort with a broad range of abilities and I am delighted with the results, especially for those whom academic achievement does not come easily. It makes their successes all the sweeter. Our results in the sciences and IT are indicative of the girls’ interest in these subjects and they are encouraged to extend themselves in these, and all aspects, of the school”.

Camille Kippen: 11 x A*
Katie Henderson: 1 x A** in Further Maths, 12 x A* and 1 x A
Catherine Galley: 12 x A* and 1 x A, Mandarin studied privately – A*
Anna van der Horst: 11 x A* and 1 x A
Lucy Shelley: 10 x A* and 2 x A. Lucy represented Wiltshire at the national Poetry Speaks competition in Oxford, having won the local and regional competitions
Imogen Burt, Lucy Robb and Celia Wells: 9 x A* and 2 x A
Imogen Heitz Jackson and Annabel Haxforth: 9 x A* and 1 x A
Apart from their strong academic results, the students mentioned above participated fully in the cocurricular activities at Godolphin such as being members of the CCF, completing the Ten Tors challenge, undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh award, music, drama, debating, sport, Green Group, poetry reading and Camille taking one of the lead roles in Oklahoma!
Head Scholar for 2015/2016, Emilia Ames, who achieved five As at AS level, also studied Classical Greek at GCSE. She was awarded an A* and achieved 100% in all her papers.
