Godolphin recently hosted A Night with Olympians 2012. Christian Malcolm, Dwain Chambers, both athletes Godolphin dwain chambers olympicsfrom Team GB, and Vittoria Panizzon of Team Italia's Equestrian team shared with the capacity audience stories of their inspirational journeys from enthusiastic youngsters to the world class Olympic stars they are today.

Christian and Dwain gave an insight into life on the track racing against the likes of Usain Bolt. Dwain answered questions openly and honestly about his naive decision to take drugs, his years in the wilderness and his joy at his life-time Olympic ban being overturned and being allowed to compete in the London 2012 Olympics, giving him the chance to let his feet apologise to his country, sport and friends for the mistake he made 10 years ago.

“I admit, I was a little quick to judge Dwain’s situation before tonight, but when I heard him speak, learnt of all the facts and the vulnerable situation he was in, it would seem that being given a second chance was the best thing that could have happened to him. I never thought I would be inspired so much by an athlete who was banned from his sport.” said Iona, a Sixth Form sports scholar.

Vittoria had the audience hanging onto their seats for dear life as she talked and showed pictures of her trusty sidekicks jumping fences that only looked suitable for the insane. A number of Godolphin girls compete at national level in equestrian events, which made Vittoria’s talk even more relevant.

The evening was held to raise funds for Sporting Chance International and the Olympians donated signed articles to be auctioned to raise funds. A number of Godolphin girls will be visiting Kenya in the summer to work with the charity.go dolphin question and answer olympics

and they taught us the sacrifices, dedication and determination it takes to be the best athletes in the world.”
