Godolphin Third Year Girls make it a clean sweep at Rotary Young Writer Competition

A very talented group of Third Year girls from Godolphin won both the junior and senior sections of the Rotary Young Writer competition recently.

Mrs Jill Carlisle, Head of English at Godolphin said, “We had several very good Third Year entries which we submitted and are absolutely delighted that we won both the junior and senior sections”.

The winners are:

Junior

Winner – Lizzie Tossell
Runner-Up – Theresa Allsopp

Senior

Winner – Lucy Shelley
Runner-Up – Anna van der Horst

Lizzie and Lucy’s entries have been put through to the District Round and we wish the girls every success at this next stage.

On Monday evening, the girls attended the Salisbury Rotary Club dinner where they presented their pieces to the Rotarians. President Elect, Mr Kevin Flynn, said the girls were extremely well received by the Rotarians and “they were a real credit to the school”.
