Zara Philips Olympic Medal London 2012 GordonstounThis year we are so proud to have had three OGs representing their country in the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Zara Phillips (Plewlands 1999) won a Silver Medal as part of the GB Eventing Team. Great Britain won the medal after a thrilling finale to the equestrian team eventing competition. Zara performed a faultless round in the cross-county stage of the competition, and by the time of the final show jumping stage, only two fences separated Britain and Germany. Team GB put in a fantastic effort and just narrowly missed out on the gold position. Zara paid tribute to her horse, High Kingdom, who performed spectacularly well throughout the whole competition.

Helen Glover Gold Medallist London 2012Heather Stanning (Plewlands 2003) and her partner, Helen Glover, also representing Team GB, won the first Gold Medal of the games

Saeed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Olympic Medalist London 2012Saeed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Round Square 1994) represented the UAE in the single Skeet Shooting. Saeed narrowly missed out on securing a place in the finals in the single event with a final ranking of 13th out of 36. Saeed is not new to the Olympic Games having represented UAE in the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics in skeet shooting and also competed at the 2006 Asian Games and the 2007 Pan Arab Games. In 2011, he won Gold in the ISSF World Cup Finals in UAE and he also won Gold in the 2011 Pan-Arab Games in Qatar.
