After a long wait, GCSE results were announced today in the UK and we’re absolutely delighted that our girls achieved the highest number of top 9-7 grades since the new grading system was introduced 5 years ago! Here are a few of the headlines:

  • 24% of all grades were the top grade 9 (equivalent of A**)
  • 42% were 9-8 (equivalent of A**-A*)
  • 64% of all grades were 9-7 (equivalent of A**-A)
  • 93% were grades 9-5 (equivalent of A**-C)

Of course it’s not just the grades pupils achieve that are important, but also the progress they make.  We’re delighted that our average Value Added (or progress) score was 1, meaning that on average our incredible teachers helped pupils to add one full grade per subject compared to the grades they were predicted when they joined us!

As with last week’s A level results, our international students have again achieved excellent results from both our 1 Year GCSE Programme and our 2 Year GCSE Programme.  Here are just some of the fabulous results from our international pupils:

  • Beatrice (1 Year GCSE programme for international pupils) – 7 grade 9s (all A** equivalent)
  • Jasmine (BNO day pupil) – 6 grade 9s (A** equivalent)
  • Sophie (2 Year GCSE programme) – 100% grades 9-7
  • Jessie – 5 grade 9s and 1 grade 7
  • Stephanie – 5 grade 9s and 1 grade 6

We have a few final places left for September (all year groups except Year 10) and we’re also happy to consider students who would like to join in April or January (including Year 10).  We are also now busy with applications for September 2023.
