Hazlegrove with Grand National winner Neptune CollangesThere was great excitement at Hazlegrove as Grand National winner Neptune Collanges paid a visit to the school.

On a somewhat windy but thankfully dry afternoon, Neptune Collanges stood patiently in front of the school whilst over 400 pupils and staff went to meet him. Beautifully turned out, he was of course proudly sporting his Grand National winner’s rug! He certainly seemed to enjoy posing for photographs and all the attention bestowed upon him.

Neptune Collanges was trained locally by Paul Nicholls, a former Hazlegrove parent, and was brought to Hazlegrove by Head Lad Clifford Baker, whose daughter Charlotte is a pupil here, and Claire who looks after the horse on a day to day basis.

It was a great privilege for the Hazlegrove pupils to have this opportunity to meet a local superstar!
