The 14th – 21st February is “National Nest box Week” (NNBW), an annual event organised by the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) for the last 10 years.
The week aims to encourage more people to put up nest boxes in their gardens, and in doing so, contribute to the conservation effort in the UK.
As well as giving the birds in your garden a helping hand, hanging up your very own bird box lets you watch the blue tits and other birds as they collect moss and make their nest in readiness for egg laying this Spring.
We will of course be putting our own bird boxes up in the school grounds, starting with one in the Orchard today.
