Our Year 2 pupils had enormous fun last week when they made toxic slime with Miss Mann, one of our senior Hethersett Old Hall School school science teachers.

Miss Mann set up a fascinating lesson firstly showing ordinary things under the microscope and how very different grass, ice and skin looks when it is magnified many times.

The children were then invited to put on overalls and goggles. They learnt how to mix glue with water and borax and they discovered that the mixture they were stirring turned into the most wonderful slime!

They chose lurid colours to add to their mix and found that the slime could be formed into weird shapes – it was cold, squidgy, sticky and could bounce!

The children loved it and are thoroughly enjoying their exciting science lessons. Many thanks to Miss Mann, and our Sixth Form girls Olivia and Renu, for an extraordinary lesson. Hethersett Old Hall School
