Year 9 girls at Hethersett Old Hall School researched a fascinating notable from history or contemporary times and portrayed them in the flesh in early March.

The girls all became their chosen personality and by using a mixture of imagination, research and creativity created individual learning centres, designed to tell you everything you need to know about their notable.
Each learning centre included a curiosity box containing suggested questions for parents and friends to ask each notable and there were also mementoes and displays to help with visitors understanding of each character.

The girls also dressed up in the style of their notable, to help them truly inhabit their roles.

The ‘Night of the Notables’ project was introduced to Hethersett Old Hall School by former Deputy Head, Nanette Kay. It is based on the programme established by Michael Elliott at Stuartholme School in Brisbane, Australia.

The night gives girls the opportunity to do an extended piece of research and develop their presentation skills. It also increases their confidence when talking to small groups of people.
