Kelly College makes a new world record set by Swimmer!

Kelly College Swim Squad sent 26 swimmers to the ASA South West Regional Short Course Championships held on Kelly College new  world record swimmingthe 1st and 2nd December at Millfield School.

The event proved a success as a total of 14 new records were set. Among these were 10 British Records, a European Record and a World Record. Kelly swimmers also returned with 81 personal bests and 22 medals.

Hannah Russell, who broke her own British Record (S12) in the 100m freestyle in Sheffield over the previous weekend, broke the record yet again. Hannah then went on to record a time of 2.12.16 in the 200m (S12) freestyle which broke the British, European and World Record and finished the competition having won six Gold Medals.

10 new Kelly College Age Group Records were also set at the meet. Chloe Barrow, Cara Layden, Oliver Willis, Nikita Ivanov and George Humphrey all broke records, one of which, broken by Chloe Barrow, had stood for over a decade. Stephanie Reynolds came away from the meet with two new records and Milly Furneaux set an impressive total of three new records.

Congratulations to all the swimmers who competed at the meet and to Milly Furneaux, Nikita Ivanov, Michael Jones, Leah Picillo, Stephanie Reynolds, Hannah Russell and Ollie Willis who all left Millfield with well-earned medals.
