A Kent College schoolgirl has been crowned Horrible Histories’ biggest fan in a nationwide competition.
Nine-year-old Tilly Snowball, who is in Year 4 at Kent College Pembury’s Preparatory School, will be popular with her classmates after she won a day’s visit in school from Horrible Histories actor, Ben Willbond, on Thursday 26 June. The popular BAFTA winning television show and children’s book series brings history to life for the younger generation and makes learning fun!
Tilly, who put together a portfolio for the competition, said: “When I found out I had won, I was literally speechless. I am so excited about Ben Willbond coming to school; it will be the most amazing day ever!”
Talking about her classmates’ reaction, Tilly added: “The best thing is I get to share my prize with all my friends. It feels truly wonderful to be the biggest fan of Horrible Histories – I can’t believe it’s actually true.”
Tilly, who entered the competition through the Horrible Histories magazine, has also won a year’s subscription to her favourite title and is looking forward to seeing her picture in the next edition.
Her father, Oliver, said: “I am extremely proud of Tilly. She spent several weeks compiling ideas for her entry, and I know her friends and teachers were all hugely supportive. Everyone is now absolutely thrilled for her.”
