Kent College Pembury A Level Results

A record number of students at Kent College achieved top results across the board in their A Levels this year. The school in Pembury is proud to announce that 60% of grades were A* or A, this is a 62% increase from 2013. From this record success 21% of grades were A*, the highest ever proportion in the school’s history. Recent educational advances and Kent College’s unrivalled ability at encouraging their girls’ potential has also seen 73% attain ABB+, compared to 46% from the previous year.

The spectacular set of results show strength across the 30 subjects in the whole curriculum. 85% of all subject entries were graded at either A*, A or B.

These top grades have enabled Kent College’s current leavers to take up their university places with the vast majority gaining their first choice into Russell Group Universities and other highly competitive courses, with a number of girls also choosing overseas institutions of higher education.

Kent College’s performance continues to accelerate upwards and these excellent results are testament to the hard work of the students and staff. The school’s academic development and pastoral care builds all-round confidence and ensures that all girls continue to surpass their expectations and nurtures individuals to reach their potentials.

Headmistress Sally-Anne Huang commented:

‘I am delighted that the girls and staff of Kent College have proven today that it’s possible to gain the highest grades at A level without having to operate in an exclusive or pressured environment.  We are well known for our warm and caring approach, in conjunction with excellent extra-curricular attainment.  Academic success comes because of that and not in spite of it.’

Chloe Funnell, who achieved 2 A* and 1 A in Classics, Latin and Psychology and who will be reading Classics at Oxford University commented:

“I can’t describe how relieved I am, I couldn’t have asked for more.  These results are really the best end to my KC career.”

Maddie who is the eldest twin by two minutes will go Bristol University reading Psychology, whilst Georgina will be nine miles down the road at Bath University to study Sports and Exercise.  Georgina commented on their shared, yet individual successes:
