A talented artist from King Edward’s Witley has been awarded a prize by the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers in London.
Edwina Keary, an Upper Sixth Form day pupil, had been due to receive her award and exhibit her painting ‘Girl in Wood’ at Mansion House this month at a Prize Giving ceremony, but this was cancelled due to the current COVID-19 situation.
The Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers awards an annual art prize of £100 to a pupil from each of the 26 schools in London and the South East that take part. The winner of the prize is selected by their school and the prize money is used to buy an art book of their choice and art materials.
It has always been Edwina’s passion to pursue a career in art, and the she will go on to study Art History at the University of Exeter, Streatham Campus.

This is an excellent example of how the School encourages talented art pupils such as Edwina to pursue the Arts with confidence.
