Fans of fast-paced psychological thrillers are in for a treat when acclaimed author Jon Robinson visits King Edward’s Witley on World Book Day, Thursday 5th March 2015.

With his debut novel ‘Nowhere’ hailed by The Guardian as “Thrilling and chilling in equal measure – a tense and gripping page turner.” The author of the action-packed ‘Nowhere’ trilogy for young adults will visit the School to talk about his life as an author and his passion for creative writing.

Jon’s 60-minute presentation to pupils in Years 7 and 8 will start with a dramatic video trailer for ‘Nowhere’ produced by his publisher, Puffin Books. Pupils will hear about his “fairly gruesome” writing as a child, find out how his passion for psychology influenced the central themes in his books and discover top tips on how to get published.

Volunteers from the Lower School audience will also be invited to take part in an interactive script-like reading of the first chapter of ‘Nowhere’, which was released in July 2013. Senior pupils from Year 9 to Sixth Form have all been reading ‘Nowhere’ in house teams and will be taking part in a fast-paced literary quiz based on the book.

Jon’s second book, ‘Anywhere’ was published in July 2014 and the final book in the series, ‘Somewhere’, will be released in July 2015 by Puffin Books. The previous book finished on a cliff-hanger and pupils at King Edward’s will just have to wait until then to learn the fate of the teenage protagonists. Unless Jon reveals a few clues!
