King’s is delighted to announce that a large number of pupils have successfully completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award whilst still at the school.
It is unusual for pupils to have completed this stage of the award whilst still in secondary level education; many usually go on to complete it during their university years.
Our pupils will be attending a Gold Award presentation at one of the Royal Palaces in London, much to their excitement.
We would like to congratulate the following pupils:
Jennifer Stapleton
Emily Glazebrook
Elena Close
Tara Bell
Sophie Whitfield
Helena Winsey
Harvey Walsh
Zachary Spiers
Jo Cooke
Alexander Michaels
George Retter
Edward Keeling
Henry Dufosee
George Pritchard
Oliver Fox
Josh Stickland
Thomas Frankham
Commenting on this success, Headmaster Richard Biggs said: “We are proud of our Duke of Edinburgh programme at King’s, which sees good numbers succeeding in the Bronze Award and, unusually for a school, in the Gold as well while they are still with us. The Gold Award represents many hours of dedicated service, training and a gruelling final expedition. We have an outstanding team of staff supporting the programme, and this success owes much to their commitment and professionalism. I congratulate our seventeen Gold Award holders most warmly indeed.”
