Kingsley Pupil wins UK song writing award

Kingsley UK song writing competition  Congratulations go to Yasmine (Yazzy) Chamberlain in Year 9 who has been making her mark in the fiercely competitive music industry.

The new year brought the exciting news that Yazzy had won the 'Work in Progress' category of the UK Songwriting Contest 2012 with her composition 'Losing Everything'.

The judges, who included Kipper Eldridge, Stuart Epps and Richard Niles said Yazzy showed great potential and promise as a songwriter and singer.

Four other compositions were given semi final positions and three were commended. Yasmin received certificates for each of her successes and was given free membership of the Guild of International Songwriters and Composers.

Yasmin plays the piano, guitar and violin and is a member of the Children's Choir of Great Britain. She has delighted audiences many times at School concerts and soirées with her vocal and instrumental performances.
