Jack Unsworth in Year 10 is thrilled to have been chosen for the Great Britain Surf Squad. Kingsley School

As part of the GB Squad Jack has been training in Croyde with specialist coaches from 'SurfingGB'.

Training sessions have welcomed squad members from all over the country to the beaches of North Devon and Cornwall.

Jack thoroughly enjoyed the meet in March at nearby Croyde, which along with surfing included fitness tests, endurance running, sprints and sit-ups on the beach and workshops on how competitions are judged.

Jack has just returned with his father also a keen surfer, from an Easter break refining his skills in California.

Despite travelling to surf beaches all over the world, Jack says he likes surfing in North Devon.

He especially loves the break on his home beach of Westward Ho! (5 minutes from School).

A longboard specialist, Jack is looking forward to the Atlantic Watersports event in Portugal in the Summer.

An inspiration to all our budding young surfers from both the Junior and Senior School as the School Surf Club starts up for the season this week.
