A presentation of Duke of Edinburgh's Awards took place in the School's Edgehill Theatre on Thursday evening. Kingsly Duke of edingburgh

The School welcomed Paul Vachon, Search Manager of the North Dartmoor Search & Rescue Team who presented over 60 pupils with their Silver and Bronze Awards. Paul also gave a fascinating talk on the valuable work carried out by his group.

The Awards require students to learn new skills, work as volunteers and take part in outdoor expeditions.

The Bronze Award students did their Training Expedition around Torrington and their Qualifying Expedition on the coast near Hartland.

The Silver Award involved a Training Expedition on Dartmoor followed by a Qualifying Expedition in the Wye Valley.

Kingsley now has 48 students working towards their Gold D of E Award, the largest number ever.

Half are preparing for their Training Expedition in the Brecon Beacons this summer, while the other half did their Training Expedition in the Yorkshire Dales last summer and will complete their Qualification Expedition in Spain’s Picos Mountains in July this year.

Congratulations to all those who received an award, and a huge thank you to the staff who put many hours of organisation and supervision into the program.
