Kingswood Preparatory School will host a special event this week to celebrate its new state of the art development.

The construction of learning spaces, classrooms and a brand new nursery has progressed quickly since it began in August and will be open in time for the new academic year.

Simon Morris, principal of the Kingswood Foundation, said: “I am delighted that this wonderful new development has progressed so well and will be open for the new school year in September.  The first-rate facilities will, I have no doubt, inspire the children to ever higher achievements in their learning.”

The nursery, named The Garden at Kingswood, will provide education for children as young as nine months and will make the most of Kingswood’s extensive grounds with an emphasis on exploration and enquiry.

There will be more space for art and design in the preparatory school building, plus areas for drama and music development.  A multi-functional hall will also allow pupils to share whole-school celebrations and their talents with the wider community.

Andy Blake, project manager for Midas Construction, said: “It is great for all involved to see the new buildings taking shape so quickly and the way in which they will fit so well into the existing school setting.”
