Leighton Park Jumping For Joy IB Results
IB Students Rosie, Ellie, Megan and Amy jumping for joy at Leighton Park

Leighton Park School’s Sixth Formers were again proud of their achievements as they received their International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) results. Leighton Park students were delighted to achieve an average of 34 points – far exceeding the pass mark of 24 points out of a maximum 45, This year’s results continue to build on the excellent success achieved by students over the last 4 years since its introduction into the school’s Sixth Form Curriculum (alongside A Levels) in 2010.  The 34 point average achieved by Leighton Park students is well above the world average of 29 points. In addition, 5 students also gained the bilingual diploma.

Deputy Head and IBDP Co-ordinator at Leighton Park, Karen Gracie-Langrick commented, “In times of considerable and unsettling A Level reform, the IBDP continues to provide an excellent, broad and relevant apolitical educational experience.  Evidence from our own students strongly reflects that the IBDP has provided them with the best preparation for the most competitive worldwide universities and the global workplace beyond.  I am again, delighted with the fact that the vast majority of our students this year have earned their places at first choice universities”

High scoring student, Ellie, who achieved 39 points said, “‘I didn’t want to find out; I was so nervous, but I’m just so pleased!”. Ellie will be going to St Andrews to study International Relations with German in the Autumn. Megan and Rosie, both scored 38 points and were overjoyed with their results.  Both, along with the majority of this year’s cohort, have secured places at their first choice universities.  Thrilled Megan said, “It’s great to get my results; in some subjects I’ve done even better than I expected!”
