A fantastic 73.7% of grades were A* to B grades, demonstrating the excellent academic standards at the school, especially as a number of our students are not included in these results due to their participation in the International Baccalaureate.

Alex Abraham, a day boarder from Reading, received three A* grades and plans to study Mathematics at Cambridge.

Bertie Marks, a weekly boarder, received two A grades and one A*, and plans to study Medicine at Newcastle University.

In addition to the outstanding A Level success, Leighton Park students who participated in the IB, the results of which were announced in July, scored an average of 36 points per student, well above the international average of 29 points.

What makes the A Level results even more pleasing is the fact that the performance shows a marked increase against the predictions made by baseline testing. This means that on average, each of our students achieved an increase of almost two A-level grades across three subjects.

We are thoroughly delighted with the performance of all our departments and the educational provision we offer here at Leighton Park and we are looking forward to continuing to provide an outstanding educational experience for all our pupils.

Head, Alex McGrath commented:
“I am absolutely delighted with these results, which pay tribute to the dedication of staff and students. We are fortunate to have teachers at Leighton Park who can inspire students to give of their best, and achieve their academic goals”.
