Llandovery College alumni selected for Wales

Past pupils Tomi Lewis and Aron Hemmings join the Wales U20s squad

Six former Llandovery College pupils have been selected to represent Wales at this year’s Six Nations.

Captain Alun Wyn Jones and George North were selected for the men’s squad, with Carys Phillips captaining the women’s team.

The U20s squad includes last year’s leavers Corey Baldwin, Tomi Lewis and Aron Hemmings.

Lewis, along with two other past pupils in Cai Devine and Luke Morgan, features for the Wales Sevens squad that currently plays in the HSBC Sevens World Series.

Iestyn Thomas, head of rugby at Llandovery College, said: “We are extremely proud of our boys and girls and the college’s ability to produce a steady flow of world class players, based on dedication, hard work and high expectation.”
