Llandovery College – Welsh Heart Global Vision

A unique event celebrating food, music and culture from countries across the globe is being held at Llandovery Llandovery School world vision day globeCollege.

On March 2nd, the College hosts its first ‘Welsh Heart, Global Vision Day’ with a feast of mouth-watering foods; musical workshops; stalls; cookery demonstrations and fun and games for all the family.

This includes a huge bouncy Army Assault Course and a Climbing Tower. The event is free to the public and everyone is welcome.

Award-winning chef, Margaret Rees from Llandeilo, will be showcasing her culinary skills with a Welsh artisan food demonstration and there will be plenty of goodies to savour and flavour throughout the day.

Margaret’s television appearances include cooking with Keith Floyd in his programme Floyd on Britain and Ireland and a weekly slot on the S4C magazine programmes Heno and Wedi Tri.

The Llandovery College Choir and various musical ensembles will set the scene with tunes from all over the world and you will be invited to try your hand at the bagpipes, the harp and even some African drums!

Llandovery College headmaster Guy Ayling said each tutor group in the College had chosen a country to showcase on their stall and there would be a prize for the most inspirational and colourful creation on the day.

Likewise, we are a school with a global outlook and welcome pupils from across the world.

“All our pupils have been actively involved in preparations for the event and there is a great excitement amongst the pupils in the build-up to the day. This day will be unique and we welcome you all to share it with us – pupils and staff will be dressing up in traditional costumes, so please feel free to wear yours!.”

Welsh Heart, Global Vision Day is on Saturday March 2nd at 11am. Admission free. All welcome.
