The Loretto School Golf Academy has been crowned Number 1 Scottish School in the recent prestigious HMC (Headmaster's and Headmistresses Conference), reaffirming its position as Scotland's foremost golf academy.

The HMC finals comprise the top six schools in the United Kingdom qualifying from their respective regions, plus the previous year's finalists, with the tournament format foursomes matchplay over 18 holes. This year's competition took place at the idyllic Rye Golf Club in Sussex.

The Loretto Golf Academy Team, the only qualifying from Scotland, beat Bedford School 2-1, Tonbridge School 3-0, Whitgift 2-1 and narrowly missed out to Millfield School.

Jonathan Hewat, Director of External Affairs, commented, " we are delighted with this achievement. The Loretto players were delighted to represent Scotland, rose to the occasion against formidable opposition and this performance rounds of a highly successful season."
