On Friday, 7th June, the Loretto Junior School Golf team played in the IAPS (Independent Association of Preparatory Schools) National Championships at the world famous Royal Lytham & St. Anne’s Golf Club.
The talented young Golfers from Loretto Junior School took the honours by winning the Junior Team Trophy consisting of Murray Cooper (11 from West Linton), Ben Muncaster (11 from North Berwick) and Lyle Murdoch (10 from Lasswade) with a team total of 89 points.
Lyle Murdoch also secured second place overall in the Under 11 competition with an individual points tally of 38.
Jonathan Hewat, Director of External Affairs and Loretto commented, “ With 81 competitive young players from 29 different schools all over the UK competing for the silverware, and we are delighted with the tremendous success of the Loretto Golfers.”
