IT may be Scotland's oldest boarding school but pupils at the hallowed Loretto School in Edinburgh proved that the last thing they do is live in the past.

They have had a huge online hit with their comedy dance video, a parody on One Direction's recent hit, 'One Way of Another', made to encourage pupils and staff at the school to dig deep into their pockets for Comic Relief.

The film, shot at various locations around the Loretto School campus and featuring members of staff and pupils was the brainchild of a group Sixth Form pupils at the school who rallied their friends, edited the footage which was then shown to the whole school in the theatre on Comic Relief/Red Nose Day.

Jonathan Hewat, Director of External Affairs at Loretto School said, "I think we have all have noticed it getting a little bit harder to raise funds from traditional sources and this has exposed us to a wider audience.

I do congratulate the pupils on this novel way of raising the profile and funds for this noble cause. Comic Relief is all about doing something funny for money; the Loretto boys and girls certainly did that as the film raised a huge smile within Loretto community and now, thanks to the power of the Internet, to a whole new audience too! Quite honestly, I do believe that the Loretto School video is far superior to the One Direction original!"
