In Art we’ve made morphs and finished them and glazed them. They all looked loretto argentina project

great. We all put on our own accessories including a sling, hats, a bow and arrow and headphones. We did this so we could improve our sculpting and painting.

On Thursday we danced the Chacarera, which is an Argentinian dance. Copete came in again to teach us more steps and tell us about the clothes that we are going to wear for our assembly.

We all lined up and practised several steps. It was very fun but some bits were hard like the footwork when we were moving our arms too. Another hard part was moving in a diamond shape while still looking at our partner.

On Friday we received letters from some Argentinian children in Southern Cross school in Buenos Aires. This is because we’re doing our topic on Argentina and it will help us get answers to our questions.

For half the day they speak Spanish and for the other half they speak English so they can write to us in English. They are a private school like us. Our teacher lived in Buenos Aires and he used to teach there. Next week we are going to write back to them.Loretto year 5 science

In Science we’ve been working on sound. We made funnels to help direct the sound waves. We also made a record player out of card and pins, and when we moved the record the sound came out of the amplifier. At first it didn’t work so we were all really excited to hear it when it did work.
