Malvern St James Sixth Formers Celebrate A Level Success

Malvern St JamesSixth Formers at Malvern St James Girls’ School are once again celebrating exceptional A Level and AS Level results, heralding yet another year of academic and personal excellence.

The results resonate last year’s successes with an amazing 26% of grades at A*. 67% of all grades awarded were A*-A, 85% A*-B, and 100% pass rate overall. 35% of girls have achieved straight A* and A grades, with six students securing A* in all of their A Level subjects. The AS results were equally outstanding with 62% at grades A-B.

Almost all of MSJ’s Year 13 will go on to the university and course of their choice. These include an impressive range of subjects: Architecture, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Medicine and Sciences, Engineering, Law, Music, Mathematics, Accountancy and Management courses. MSJ girls will be going on to study at some of the very best UK universities, including places at The Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, LSE, Imperial College, Bristol, Durham, Edinburgh, Warwick and Manchester.

Four girls are celebrating places at Oxbridge, including MSJ Academic Scholar Sara Devereux, now living in London. Sara, who has gained a place at Trinity College, Cambridge to study Natural Sciences, said,
I’m thrilled with my results. MSJ has been my home away from home with my parents living in Hong Kong for the last five years, and boarding here has really prepared me for life after School. I can’t wait to start at Cambridge, the next step in fulfilling my ambition for a career in Public Health!” Sara’s mother, Mrs Gill Devereux added, “We are obviously very proud of Sara – she has been so happy at MSJ; it’s such a lovely School which draws the very best out of the girls.

Head Girl Lottie Van Praag, from Monmouthshire, is taking up her Sports Scholarship and Sociology course at Exeter University. Lottie said, “I am absolutely thrilled with today’s result! It is so great for us all to be celebrating together. It’s been such a privilege to be part of this fabulous School. A massive thank you
to everyone who has helped us throughout our School careers.

Headmistress, Mrs Patricia Woodhouse, member of the Girls’ School Association, said “All our Sixth Form Leavers must be congratulated on their results.
