Malvern St JamesJ’adore, a Young Enterprise Company from Malvern St James are celebrating after being named ‘Overall Winner’ at the South Worcestershire Spring Trade Fair last Saturday. Their latest product ‘The Essential Guide to Boarding School’ handbook beat off all competition to win the award for ‘Best Product’. Headmistress, Mrs Woodhouse, attended the fair and said, ‘In what was a very competitive event with many schools in the local area putting forward their Young Enterprise teams, this is a fantastic result. We are thrilled with the girls’ success’.

Rosie Baker, one of the founders, explains the background to this exciting company: ‘J’adore is a dynamic and diverse company, formed of 12 enthusiastic sixth form students who are passionate about learning more about the business world. Our company is focused on providing original, high-quality products centred around a boarding school theme.

As a company of young students we pride ourselves on forward thinking innovation and a fresh outlook on the boarding school stereotype, which rivals that of any adult competitors in this sector.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day and the launch of our latest product, a guidebook for boarding school students, J’adore hosted a balloon release on the 14th February, when 100 balloons took to the air. The book has been produced by members of the young enterprise company and covers a wide range of topics, from decorating your dorm to teaching you the ‘boarding school lingo’. It is aimed at both new and current students. In the lead up to the release, J’adore organised a variety of activities around the school including a Valentine’s Day Treasure Hunt for the Junior Department students, a romantic-comedy movie night in one of the boarding houses and selling a full range of the products during lunch hours.’
