Congratulations to the U13As who won the Millfield Prep Tournament. Captain Amy Rumney, who is still Millfield Prep Netballrecovering, led the team well in a very cold Netball tournament.

The team, who missed Gaby Sexton, showed their strength and depth by adapting well. Lowri Whiskerd faced some tall opposition but used her long legs to leap up against Queen’s and secure and steady a nervous team.

Vicki Tait showed that she is an all-round county player by playing in the GD role all day. All Hallows, who brought their own scare tactic in Stacey Francis (England GD), didn’t faze a very focused Lauren Dolan who delivered inch perfect passes into the D.

Kingswood were a strong team, but Rosie Smith had her shooting boots on and secured a comfortable victory. India Marsh and Ellie Lloyd played some fast flowing netball each showing their athleticism and determination.

After the initial group games Millfield Prep secured winners’ spot in Group 1 and progressed to the semi-final were they played Hazlegrove.

They started strongly by going 3-0 up but Hazlegrove fought back. Millie Regan dictated play from the front and with some dynamic movement in the circle secured a good win 8-4. In the final the girls didn’t let their nerves get to them.

They kept to the game plan of fast but controlled netball and the match was very close. The girls remained calm yet focused and won the tournament.

A big thank you to Mrs Allen and Mrs Bodman for running the table and the timings. Also, thank you to Fenella Rice who was a star
