Millfield Prep – Old Millfieldian of the Year 2012

The Old Millfieldian Society has announced its Old Millfieldians of the Year for 2012.

The award was instituted in 2000 to recognise Old Millfieldian excellence of achievement in a wide range of fields.

The society is delighted to honour a record seven OMs this year, including two, Paul Lister and Chris Robshaw, who attended Millfield Prep. The awardees are:

Ali Allawi – Iraq’s first post-war civilian Minister of Defence in 2004, and Minister of Finance until 2006

Mary Bignal Rand – in 1964 became the first British female to win an Olympic gold in track and field

Pam Cookey – Captain of the England netball team which won the World Netball Series in 2011

Helen Glover – Great Britain Olympic gold medallist 2012 – Women’s Rowing Pairs

Paul Lister – Founder of Alladale Wilderness Park in Scotland and the European Nature Trust

Chris Robshaw – Captain of the England rugby team and Aviva Premiership Player of the Season

Peter Wilson – Great Britain Olympic gold medallist 2012 – Men’s Double Trap Shooting
