Millfield Prep pupils have been impressing with their fundraising skills as they attempt to ‘sow’ money for our Harvest Appeal in aid of ShelterBox this term.

Rather than simply asking for donations, pupils have been tasked with ‘sowing’ money; for example buying ingredients for a cake sale or sponges and soap for a car wash.

Oska and Morgan Zaky and Rosie and Ruby Smith set up their ‘Amazing Shoe Shine’ in Street. Lando Norris helped design their poster and they were thrilled to raise over £100 on the day.

Alexander Sargeant’s ‘Scrumptious Scones’ were a hit in his local neighbourhood. He made a phenomenal 378 scones with the help of his grandma.

They were sold around his village, with offers of eggs and cheese from kind locals, and further afield to Lloyds TSB, a hairdressers and the Millfield swimming squad, coaches and parents. Alexander raised a grand total of £168.

Money has also been raised from cake sales, sponsored swims and ‘Guess the Amount of Sweets in a Jar’, with other projects already underway.

Many thanks to all the pupils who have put so much effort into the Appeal so far.
