Monkton_Prep_Headteacher_Pic_with_familyMonkton Prep and Pre-Prep have much to look forward to over the next few years. Not only will they welcome a new Headmaster in January but they have just received planning permission to build a brand new, purpose built Pre-Prep facility adjacent to the existing Prep School buildings to replace the beautiful Victorian house – known as Glenburnie – which has been home to Pre-Prep pupils for the past 90 years. This building project will include major improvements to vehicle access across the site, and also a programme of landscaping and tree planting. It is hoped that work on access can start next summer.

Commenting on these developments, Andrew Marshall-Taylor, who will take over from current Headmaster, Chris Stafford, in January said: ‘Completion of these improvements to access, landscaping and tree planting will be one of our top priorities, and this will pave the way for the construction of a new Pre-Prep facility in due course’.

Mr Marshall-Taylor, who is currently Deputy Head of Twickenham Prep School in London, went on to say: ‘Not only will these developments make our site much safer for all our pupils but it will also help to improve traffic flow, and encourage more pupils to walk or cycle to school’.

You can meet Andrew Marshall-Taylor and hear more about the School’s development plans at their Open Mornings on Friday 4th and Saturday,5th October.
