Two rugby sevens teams from Monmouth School for Boys have recently reached three finals.
The U12 side competed in last week’s Monmouth School for Boys’ Annual U12s Sevens competition, with the school’s A team finishing as runners-up to Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf and the B team coming second to Aberdare Community School.
Jon Despontin, master in charge of rugby at Monmouth, thanked the school’s staff and the referees for helping to make the event a success.
The school’s U14 team travelled to Cardiff for the Urdd Welsh Rugby Union 7s and beat the holders, Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera, as they narrowly finished runners-up out of 38 teams.
They will now compete in the Rosslyn Park HSBC National Schools Sevens in Roehampton later this week.
