Two pupils from Moreton Hall have recently been selected to perform alongside the English Youth Ballet. Both Rose Brown, 15, from Llangollen and Sarika Butler, 15, from Selattyn, are studying for their grade 6 ballet examinations. They successfully auditioned to perform in the full length production of the classic ballet, The Nutcracker. The production is to be performed at the local Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury at the end of July. The girls have to undertake rigorous rehearsal schedules consisting of 66 hours or rehearsal time alongside 12 hours of on stage rehearsal and 4 hours of casting.
Both girls are delighted by the prospect of working with the English Youth Ballet, commenting: “It is a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be able to perform with such high calibre ballerinas in a big theatre ballet.”
