On Monday 11th June Moreton's Pi Society held a Pi Recital competition (3.1415…). Many tried but it was down to the two finalist – Georgina Lang (Moreton First) and Flora Bai Xue (L6) to battle it out on the day. Most of us will only be familiar with the first 3 digits – 3.14 but Georgina recited 120 digits flawlessly. However, even this incredible feat was not enough to defeat Flora who notched up 200 digits. Massive congratulations must go to both girls who showed great determination to conquer what has been referred to as the Everest of one’s mind.
