An impressive five talented vocalists from Moreton Hall have been selected for the National Youth Choir of Great 
Britain.
Auditions for this nationally acclaimed choir take place all over the country, with thousands of youngsters hoping to gain a place in a choir of only one hundred and twenty members.
Georgia Webb (15), Loren Kell (14), Morgan Darcy Rees-Deacon (13), Harriet Lang (13) and Emily Kiel (13) were all advised over Christmas that they had been selected for the Training Choir, the highest level of choir available to girls of their age.
Choir Mistress and Vice Principal of Moreton Hall, Carolyn Tilley, who was trained at the Royal Northern College of Music in Opera, and has extensive choral experience including a career as a soloist explains: ‘For Moreton Hall to have five girls selected for this national choir is an outstanding achievement and testament to the high standards we achieve.
We have a reputation for nurturing young musicians and offering outstanding, high quality teaching within the Music Department, thus preparing pupils thoroughly and enabling them to perform at the highest level.
We have successfully prepared some of our Preparatory School instrumentalists for Chethams School of Music, as well as our senior pupils gaining places in the National Youth Choir of Great Britain Main Choir and the National Youth Orchestra of Wales and Four Counties Orchestra.’
The girls will attend NYCGB courses over the Easter holidays, which will culminate in all sections of the NYCGB choirs coming together at the Royal Albert Hall for the 30th Anniversary Concert, as well as attending courses in the summer with the view to progressing up to the Main Choir when they are 16.
