Moreton_hall_english_speaking_awardOver three days in February, eighty eight Moreton Hall girls from Year 7, 8 and 10 presented oral work for assessment by the English Speaking Board. There were some excellent results with over 50% achieving the top distinction mark and over 30% being rewarded with a Merit+.

The course is part of their English curriculum and so every girl takes part. Each student presented a talk on a topic of interest and responded to queries from the examiner and audience. Head of Spoken English, Merriel Hallsall-Williams commented: “Students gain the skills and confidence to express themselves fluently in any situation; the results show the exceptionally high calibre of Moreton students.”

Moreton Hall has been entering pupils for ESB assessments since 1954.
