Moreton Hall kicked off the lacrosse season with the second team winning the Welsh Rally this Saturday at Haberdashers Monmouth.
Head of sport, Kate Groves, comments: “They were outstanding, winning all of their games and at times playing at a standard on a par with many of the 1st teams.”
The 1st Team won against Worcester, St Mary's Calne, Malvern St James and Westonbirt, finishing 3rd overall. Meanwhile the U15 Team was placed second overall after losing narrowly to St Mary's Calne (7-6). The 3rd Team played in the 2nd Team competition with the highlight being a 1-1 draw against Malvern St James.
"Lacrosse is entering exciting times at Moreton," continues Kate Groves. "We have just taken on an English Lacrosse Association (ELA) Lacrosse Development Officer and we are now the regional centre for Lacrosse. We will be hosting the U19 England Open Lacrosse Trials on Sunday 30th September and we are in the process of setting up a Community Lacrosse Club."
